Sunshine at Pembrey tops off GW Racing's first legend race.

Nic and the team set off to Pembrey for their first Legend race meeting which turned out to be quite successful. Nic competed in 3 races and finished all of them with no spills or crashes which was the main objective of the day. The car he used was a hire car but was not quite up to competitive standard although he made the most of what he had.

Race 1
The race started well after Nic started from the back and made up 3 places off the start. He made up another place on the second lap but then had problems with the car due to a control arm breaking which caused him to spin. He kept his cool and caught back up with the field and finished 17Th out of 19.

Race 2
Race 2 started off the same as race 1 with Nic starting right from the back and making up 2 places from the start. In the second lap, Nic made up a further 3 places and was steaming along to challenge for another place but, as before, the car gave problems due to a rose joint coming loose so he lost a place but he held on to finish 14Th.

Race 3
Race 3 started very well after Nic shot down the outside from starting at the back and jumped in to the middle of the pack and was in 11Th place on the 1st corner. A couple of places were lost in the next 3 laps but then the fault from the 1st race came back to haunt him and caused yet more problems for Nic and he soon dropped back again and finished in 14Th.

Nic was 15th overall on the day.

Although the results weren't as good as he may have expected, Nic and the GW Racing team were still very pleased with their first ever legend outing and were pleased to finish every race. They were also pleased to have two interviews with Motors TV  before and after the first race.



 
GW Racing's Legend debut in Wales.

Nic and the GW Racing team will be heading to Pembrey , a small village on the coast of Wales where he will compete in his first Legend race. This race meeting will be a very good test for him to see how he will fit in to the world of Legend racing.
After the times he was producing at the test session at Brands Hatch last month, it should be very interesting to see how he gets on in a race. He will be starting from the back of the grid and will have his work cut out to try and make his way up the field.

The meeting is being held on the 14th and 15th of August where there will be a 15 minute practice session which will then be followed by four 8 lap race's and two 10 lap finals over the weekend.
